Goth Emo Band Goes Home

Goth Emo

The creators of American Idol are at it again. They have now released a new show called "The Next Great American Band." This show is similar to American Idol in that it travels around the country auditioning full bands and selecting them for the show.

The judges initially selected a goth emo band Dot Dot Dot, but recently they were sent home in favor of the Mile High Orchestra. The rest of the bands got to play the hits of the band Queen.

It was sad to see Dot Dot Dot go I felt they were the only representation of the goth emo people and would have gotten more support as time went along.

Emo Goth Girls, Do they have the same fashion sense?

Goth Emo Girls

Emo Goth Girls are not one and the same. In fact Emo girls are different than Goth girls. Their wardrobes may be somewhat similar, but many Emo Girls will take offense if you think they are Goth.

Emo girls are a much-toned down version of Goth girls. They tend to be a little more creative and unique when it comes to wardrobe. According to thedollplace.com, "Emo has a similar feel to Goths, but is definitely different. The dark colors and dark hair colors are the primary similarities. Overall, Goths prefer a more romantic existence, while Emos are more focused on a more hard-edge, punk approach to fashion."

Banned: Goth Emo People

Goth Emo People

Royal Exchange Square in Scotland has become unwelcoming ground to it's goth emo people. The city's leaders have branded their goth emo teens a threat to economic prosperity and have started a bid to keep them from their local hangout.

For years, these uniquely dressed teens have made Glasgow's Royal Exchange Square in the city center their local home. Often found hanging out on the step of the Gallery of Modern Art. The City believes that because these teens are dressed differently, they should be banned from the square. The city officials believe that the presence of the goth emo teens is intimidating shoppers and causing a rise in anti-social behavior. In hopes to move the youths to a different location, they have roped off the steps to the Gallery of Modern Art and have posted additional security in the area.

Understanding Goth Emo People

Goth Emo people are viewed as generally depressed teenagers. This is because this culture of people is fairly new and very misunderstood. The band Joy Division is attributed as starting Goth Emo, which is characterized by non-conformist behavior. Generally it is carried out through dress and musical tastes.

In some cases the more intense Goth Emo people will carry out non-conformist behavior through suicide or attempted suicide. Some groups actually use their wounds from an attempted suicide as a hierocracy of ranking as to who is more Goth Emo.

Parents concerned about their children should watch for the signs of depression and rapid changes in behavior. If, problems are suspected do not wait, contact professional help because these behaviors can spiral out of control quickly. This is not to say all teens involved in Goth Emo groups are going to have problems. Always remember that these teens do need an outlet for their emotions, you just want to make sure they don’t get out of control.

Am I Emo or Goth?

am i emo or goth
Let's start by defining each. For this I consulted Urbandictionary.com, which is a slang dictionary. Here is what I found…

EMO: "Genre of soft core punk music that integrates unenthusiastic melodramatic 17 year olds who don't smile, high pitched overwrought lyrics and inaudible guitar rifts with tight wool sweaters, tighter jeans, itchy scarves (even in the summer), ripped chucks with favorite bands signature, black square rimmed glasses, and ebony greasy unwashed hair that is required to cover at least 3/5 this of the face at an angle."

GOTH: "Someone who likes the darker side of things. They usually listen to death metal and Goth music, such as Dismember and Bauhaus. Marilyn Manson is NOT Goth. He's just...weird. Real Goths are not depressing and suicidal like the posers you see at Hot Topic. Goths are fun to be around and aren't afraid to laugh at themselves every so often. They don't worship Satan and aren't evil despite what some ignorant people might say. Goths don't all dress alike either. They like to create their own unique style. Goths are also very intelligent and creative. A lot of them are writers and artists. Goths DON'T envy the popular people. They are what they are because it makes them happy. Goths would rather stay who they are and be among the so-called "freaks" than be like everyone else and be popular. They understand that there are more important things in life than popularity, and usually succeed in life while the popular ones don't become much of anything.”

If you are still asking "Am I Emo or Goth," try going to: AlltheTests.com. They have a short quiz for you to take to determine if you are Goth or Emo. It will take less than 5 minutes to complete.
