Goth Hardcore

Apparently Goth hardcore has taken over the hardcore/punk music scene. More and more punk and hardcore metal music is being associated with the goth culture scene. I am not sure why this is the punks and metal heads of my day were nowhere close to what a Goth of today was.

I am a 80's kid all the punks and metal heads did not wear black and white make-up. That was introduced by the Cure and that was a total different style of music. Depeche Mode and Echo and the Bunnymen did not sound anything like punk or metal. It is amazing how the music scene has changed in just 20 short years.

Emo Cutting

There are many things about the Emo culture that I can relate to. Being Emo/emotional during the adolescence and teenage years is normal for everyone. Even the popular have insecurities they just act them out by causing problems for the less confident ones. The problem is when the youth begin to internalize their insecurities.

Emo cutting is a problem. First the question is what is so wrong that would make someone cut themselves? The answer is nothing. For any Emos reading this no matter what is going on right now in your life, things do and will get better. 90% on our county live at or just above poverty. Divorce rates are like 60% so childhood is rough. Don't cut yourself or put yourself in harms ways. I came from a hard childhood and life has gotten better. Those that were popular and causing me problems when I was younger matter nothing in my life.

Cute Goth

Look at that picture above. This is a cute goth young lady at first glance. Now look again at the picture and notice her expression. His young lady is quite angry about something. This is the issue with these types of social groups. They seem to feed the anger and discontent in the youth. Mainly these are the "outcast" (which I believe everyone is an outcast therefore we are all equal) that bonded together because of the social torment. Forgot get their appearance most of them are very intelligent and given the right guidance and the willingness to be guided a lot of them could win in the end. What I mean is they need to understand that what happens in junior/high school really does not matter end we as mentors need to do a better job explaining it to them.

A Certain level of discontent and questioning is good and when directed correctly helps to build a better society. Just remember that the discontent needs to be directed the right way to make a difference.

Emo Goth Pictures

Emo Goth pictures seem to always be on the darker side of things. It seems the Emos and Goths are more expressive of their problems and negative thoughts than the average teen. People say they are more troubled, more sensitive, and more detached than "normal" society.

I say they are just more focused on the bad side of life. Most of these teens are outcasts (which is crap) of some sort and feel attached from their peers. What we need to communicate to these "at-risk" teens (which I don't believe they all are) is that life is fairly good. First of all, that Jock or in-person will probably end up your garbage man later in life. I have found that a lot to these Emo and Goth teens are quite intelligent and if we show them that their intelligence will win in the long run, I think we can turn them around.

My advice to the Emo and Goth is this: Be who you are if you are into the dark side it is okay. Understand you are probably more intelligent than most of your peers and that makes you better off in the long run. And finally if you apply yourself, your adult life will mostly be much better than the people bothering you today.

Emo MySpace Backgrounds.

If you consider yourself to be Emo, then creating an Emo MySpace background should not be that hard. Did you find a background that you like, and you're an Emo, then problem solved you have yourself an Emo MySpace Background.

To the best of my knowledge, and feel free to comment if I am incorrect, but being Emo does not mean you are void of individuality or personality. While you may dress different than most of the kids at school, it is okay if you like some of the same things "normal" kids like.

Goth Rape…Can It Happen?

Can Goth rape happen? Of course it can happen it can happen to anybody. I cannot say that I have seen, read, or heard of any such instances that a Goth was raped, but as I said, anything can happen to anyone.

Just because there has not been a Goth Rape recently reported in recent news, you would be incredibly naïve to think it does not happen at all. Rape is probably the least reported of all crimes as it is, no matter your subculture, so you should not be surprised if it happens. While rape itself is very tragic and unfortunate to the person who falls victim to such a crime, please don't think that the Goth subculture is immune.

If you read any Goth news you will know about the beatings of Mexican Goths within the past month and you will have heard of the young 20 year old Goth woman who was killed for no reason last summer. It seems Goths are targets just for being Goth, so always take precautions.
